Independent of the main compartment‘s temperature setting, the ice maker zone is designed for making ice cubes if the ice maker is switched on.

The cooler‘s energy consumption increases with the ice maker on. Therefore you should switch off the ice maker if it is not needed.

The factory setting for the ice maker is OFF.
